Doctor Week...

This week we have been learning all about doctors and what they do. One of our sweet moms brought us all this fun gear for dress-up and we just had to share the cute pictures. Enjoy!

We Get To Go OUTSIDE!

This winter has been so cold and rainy any day we can go outside is a very special treat. And a much needed one at that.

Attempts at a group photo

This picture makes me laugh. You can tell John Spencer is thinking "What has mom signed me up for? These people are NUTS!"

My Little Pilgrims

Ok, so I admit it... One reason I am a preschool teacher is that I love to make crafts. That became evident when we got a little carried away and made nine Thanksgiving projects. I had found a template for a cute Pilgrim mask and quickly decided it was a little too difficult for two year olds to make so I made everyone's mask for them. These pictures make me laugh. That probably makes me weird. But that's ok, a person probably has to be a little weird to teach preschool too. :)

Such Determination

Ahhh, to be two again! I love the attention to the task at hand!

Sharing

I realized today that I saved the last three video posts as drafts on accidents...so here's video #3

How often do you see an ENTIRE class of twos year olds patiently waiting their turn to share ONE car?

Let me tell you, its EXTREMELY rare!
That is the exact reason I raced to my car to grab my camera after I realized this "sharing circle" would actually last longer than 30 secs.

*Disclaimer: Please ignore my talking! :-)*

They sat in this circle and passed the car to each other for nearly 10 minutes
Those of you who know this class (or any two year old for that matter), knows that this is an AMAZING feat!

What can I say? We have THE BEST CLASS EVER!

We're going on a safari....

what do you think we'll find?

This week we've been learning about the different animals that live in the African jungles & savanna. We made binoculars to help us find the different animals, and this morning we went on a safari to see what all we can find! I won't talk to much..I'll try to let the pictures do the talking!
Getting our binoculars on & preparing to start our safari

Campbell giving her binoculars a test...gotta make sure they work!

Duncan's got a little twisted
When we first got out there, Mrs. Patricia was nice enough to show us what to do on our safari...
Anna Kate trying to find the animals
Cameron & Campbell excited about finding a Zebra!

Coleman found a Lion resting in the "trees"

Following Mrs. Patricia (our safari guide) around the "African plains" in search of animals
Looking hard or playing hard?

Micah was able to get up close & personal with the crocodile
(of course still needing the binoculars to see REALLY up close)

Group photo after our fun safari...showing off our binoculars & all the animals we found!

Lining up to go back inside after our fun (and HOT) African safari
Before heading back to class, we of course had to show Mrs. Emmy all the animals
& tell her about all the fun we had!
Cameron checking out the "shark" in Mrs. Emmy's office
(Gotta love a two year old's imagination)

Mrs. Patricia's mom works at a thrift shop in Montgomery & found this really cool safari lamp. She was kind enough to let us borrow it this week as we learned about all these fun animals! It had zebras, lions, elephants, monkeys, and so much more!!!

Mrs. Patricia pointing out the different animals to the class

They watched the animals go round & round for 15min. and were
upset when we had to turn it off!
(We need something like this for every lesson!)
I love this picture...you can see on their faces how excited they are about
seeing the different animals & knowing what they are!

I say it all the time...but I love this age. Watching learn to not just talk but communicate (we hear more & more stories each week), watching their personalities really come out & shine, watching them become more independent, I could go on & on! Thank you for allowing us to teach these amazing kids! And in case I haven't mentioned it...your kids are ADORABLE!!!!

***If you see a picture of your child that you like & would like a print of it...just let us know! I am more than happy to make you a print of any picture. If you get a print made, the watermark will not be on it!

Twos Teachers....

My photo
*Miss Courtney has been working at Harvest Preschool with the twos class for 4 years (1 year as an assistant, 3 years as lead teacher). She is originally from Alexander City, AL and has a sister, Andee, (and brother-in-law, David), and brother, Brady. When she's not a school, you'll most likely find her reading a book, watching a movie, listening to music, or hanging out with friends. ********************************** *This is Mrs Patricia's third year as a Twos teacher: one year as a full time substitute/assistant and this past year as the co-lead teacher. She has been married to Jud for 10 years and has a 7 year old son William who attended Harvest in the Twos class the year Harvest opened and continued in the 3s and 4s classes. She was roped in as a substitute teacher during William's time in the 4s class has hasn't been allowed to escape since. :)
